RENEWAL OF VOWS
Often at some stage of a couple’s marriage, there is a desire to reaffirm your love for each other. This is often a consideration during a key milestone of marriage, such as on the 5th, 10th, 25th or 50th anniversary of the day that a couple first wed. It can also be a consideration as a way to reaffirm your commitment to each other after a rough patch. There really is no wrong reason to consider renewing your vows.
How long do you wait to renew?
There is no right or wrong answer to this question. Legally you can renew the very next day if you want but most couples at least wait a year. Normally it is the type of thing done once in a lifetime but there are couples who make it an annual tradition. Really the decision on when is totally up to you!
Where to renew?
Another decision that is totally up to you! You can renew on the beach, in a church, in the woods or at home in front of family and friends. There are no limitations placed on where you can reaffirm your love for each other.
Does a celebrant have to perform the ceremony?
No, we do not have to perform the ceremony, in fact, you can have anyone do it as it not a legal act. However, we do find that we are often asked to participate either because we were present at the initial wedding and it is something they want to replicate or to add a sense of officialdom to the renewal ceremony.
Should you register?
Honestly, we would advise against it. This is not the time to receive the kitchen appliance you are missing. It is a time to reaffirm your love and the gift you seek is the attendance of your friends and family. Nothing more, nothing less.
What do our vow renewal services include?
